Okay, first of all how come every twenty something year old guy has a poster of Good Fellas on their wall? It's like Scarface... All these guys have it and I just don't get it. 90% of those guys have never even seen the movie and half of the 10% who have don't even comprehend it... It's ridiculous... In my first hostel I was stuck with a bunch of kids from the south.. They all thought Lords of Dogtown was the greatest movie ever made... Everything about it was SICK or OH SHIT like they couldn't believe it. Any time anyone ever said anything that was so far from factual one of the guys would be like yeah, yeahhh, you're so right, GOOD CALL! I believe they said it was very good film making which, I just, I can't... I am gonna say something extremely offensive right now so if you're sensitive then I would probably skip this but if Heath Ledger hadn't died then no one would give a shit about any of his movies... Except maybe Batman but still only half as much. If we're gonna be real the only thing he deserved an Oscar for was 10 Things I hate About You....
Alright now that I got that out there... I was on the top bunk in my first hostel... Thank God I was only there two nights. I HATE the top bunk. I'm afraid of it. Not like I'm afraid of birds or clowns or the dark but still it's scary. I tried to gain like 300-400 pounds in 48 hours so I would just fall through to the bottom but it didn't work out. I just unfortunately got no sleep because I was assuming I would fall off the bunk and plummet to my death and no one wants to die next to someones smelly socks.
So, my first full day in Dublin I decided to do a walking tour that way I could fit in all the sights and get a little information behind them. I ended up having a really good time. I had a really great tour guide and he knew how to make the history fun and tell stories to relate to things we would know about. At one point we got up to Christ Church Cathedral and the guide is telling us about a story he likes to call Tom and Jerry... About a guy some years ago who was cleaning and found a dead cat and a dead mouse... During a brief history of the Cathedral an extremely drunk woman walks up and is just in awe over our guide speaking. She stands there and listens.. As he starts to tell the story about Tom and Jerry and mentions the cat part he goes on to start explaining the dead mouse and before he can say anything she screams, '' Don't tell me it's a fucking CAT.. a CAT CATTTTCATTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!'' He patiently is all like no, I already mentioned the cat I am talking about the mouse now she then decides to break in to song and is singing/rapping 'Danny Boy'... After she finishes the chorus without skipping a beat she's all like ''Uhh is this where you get your fucking bikes? A bike rack? You can rent a bike? Where are all the bikes? Where's my fucking bike? How to you put it back? BIKEEEEEE!''... Our guide is like yeah, this is where you get them and shrugs... He starts trying to tell us more information but a horse and carriage go by and the lady decided to start screaming ''YEEEE HAWWWWWWW!!!'' and then she apologized for having to leave because she couldn't join us for the rest of the tour, she wanted to but she couldn't but then she decided we were all probably sick of her anyway... YIKES.
After the walking tour I decided to try and do some shopping.. I wanted to get something with my family crest on it but it was kind of difficult getting it spelt Connelly instead of Connolly but fortunately I found some guy and he had them specially made for me within the hour. I really need to find a snow globe though because now I have one from everywhere and the only ones I have found so far are little ones with sheep in them. I'm not feelin' the sheep. As far as the nightlife and everything goes I have been pretty boring so far in Dublin.. Mostly because I have been rather sick. I don't know if it's allergies or being like semi run down from all the traveling and peoples dirty socks and smelly asses or what but yeah, I feel gross.
Today I got up and packed my bag which is like bursting with shit.. I hardly bought anything, I don't know what the fuck is going on here! Anyway so I dragged that like a mile to my new hostel where I will only be for one night BUT at least I have a bottom bunk. Tomorrow I switch to a new hostel for four nights and let me just say now if I have a top bunk I will kill the person on the bottom and throw their body on the top bunk. Yeah, I've been trying to work on my patience lately because that's important and in the beginning of my trip is was going really well. Nothing bothered me I was so just yeah, whatevs about everything and then after the toenail situation in London I was just like yeah, I'm gonna murder someone. I think you just get to the point where you are sick of disgusting humans with horrible hygiene and zero manners. I think it's perfectly understandable.
So to continue today on a brighter note.. I went and walked around a bunch. It is a beautiful day out and there were some things I wanted to take pictures of that I didn't on the walking tour. I decided to take a walk down to the Guinness Storehouse. It was really cool. They show you all the ingredients, they show you how they make it, the history of it, all the advertisements they've ever had and tons more... And with your ticket you either get to go up to the gravity bar and have them pour you a Guinness or one floor below you get to learn and pour it yourself and then you get a certificate showing that you officially know how to pour a pint of Guinness, which I did so, HOLLLA. After that I went up to the gravity bar to enjoy the view. Then I walked down and decided to head back towards the center of town and as I was walking I discovered I was kind of tipsy. I started buying Irish flags on the side of the street and other shit.. What the fuck am I gonna do with an Irish flag when I get home? Whatevs, I'll rep that shit. Other than that not much has happened today. I ate some sausage rolls... I am on a mission for a scotch egg and I need to prepare myself for the insanity of tomorrow.
Until next time...
Oh, BTW... RIP Nate Dogg... REGULATE.
